Pivot!

Today we posted on instagram about the solution to cold coffee. As a parent you know you’re going to end up with a forgotten cup of coffee 85% of the time. It’s just life when you have littles and that’s ok.

So what’s our solution?

Learn from Ross and PIVOT! Add ice and some whipped cream! Maybe even some sprinkles? (Rainbow sprinkles are a staple in our house of girls!)

But what about other situations? How can this be used in other areas of your life?

What about when you and your spouse get in an argument? You can pivot and walk away to another room, take a deep breath, put your phone away and pray for them. Understand the moment they are in may have nothing to do with you. And instead of trying to one up them you can give space for both of you to cool off. (Sometimes easier said than done, but try it!)

What about when a client decides to go in another direction and doesn’t want your services anymore? You can pivot and realize that your style and their style not matching up is not a bad thing! Appreciate their honesty and the fact you don’t have to work on something that wasn’t meant for you!

What about as a parent when you have the perfect plan in mind for a weekend plan and your 15 month old decides to throw a tantrum, your 9 year old won’t stop crying over nothing, and your 16 year old chooses to act like… well a 16 year old? Ha! You can pivot and keep the plans for another time OR follow through with the plan anyways. And enjoy the fact that you GET to enjoy the ups and downs of parenthood while others with empty wombs and arms would kill to be the lead of your kids’ moody Saturday.

Life is going to throw you curveballs. Nothing will always go according to plan. It’s up to you to decide how you will pivot and be the best version of yourself for you and those around you.

What areas can you pivot in your own life?
